ACT Heritage Grants
ACT Heritage Grants 2020-2021 | On 29 August 2020 ACT Minister for the Environment and Heritage, Mick Gentleman announced twenty-one projects had been awarded ACT Heritage Grants in 2020-21. The grants will provide $376,251 to individuals and community groups to identify and undertake projects that promote and conserve our local heritage. Details of individual projects here.
St John's at Reid will receive heritage grant to help maintain stained-glass windows | St John’s Anglican Church in Reid has been granted a $10,000 ACT Government heritage grant to develop a conservation plan for the church’s windows.
Heritage concerns
Anger rises over Kenmore neglect, vandalism | Frustration and anger is boiling over in Goulburn at the rampant vandalism and neglect of the historic former psychiatric hospital, now known as Kenmore Gardens. The 1890s buildings are the largest example of work by Australia’s first government architect, Walter Vernon.

Museum news
The National Museum of Australia's 'Endeavour Voyage' exhibition will continue until April 2021 | Two major exhibitions at the National Museum of Australia have been rescheduled due to COVID-19. The current exhibition Endeavour Voyage The Untold Stories of Cook and the First Australians will continue until April next year. While the planned British Museum blockbuster, Ancient Greeks: Athletes, Warriors and Heroes which was to open in December 2020 will be deferred until December 2021.
Acknowledgement: The ACT Government has awarded St. John's Church of England (erected 1841), the oldest church in Canberra a heritage grant of $10,000 for a conservation plan for the church’s windows.
