Acknowledgement: I loved the article about the 90-year-old Manuka pool being the backdrop for a parade of vintage swim wear so wanted to find an image of vintage swimwear for this post. The photograph above is one of a series taken in 1945 showing models in swim and beach wear from Victorian and Edwardian eras with one model in a contemporary (1940s) swimsuit. It is from the Argus Newspaper Collection of Photographs, State Library Victoria. Full details are here.
